Long Hill Christian Preschool

Impressions & Expressions
The impressions and experiences of your child’s preschool years will, to a large extent, determine what he or she will become.
An educator once asked a group of parents: “If you want to write your name in cement, wouldn’t you do it before it hardens?” Long Hill Christian Pre-School wants to partner with you creating something wholesome and wonderful in the life of your child, while their still young and their spirit is most pliable.
Here, children are encouraged to discover, create, and experience the order and wonder of God’s world.
Play is a crucial part of our school. Play is how children learn! Through imaginative play (with a police hat, a doll house, or puppets), children discover things about themselves. Play helps a child understand what they see and experience in the real world.
As children grow, their understanding of the world grows. We talk, we look at pictures, we hear stories, we sing songs, and we take trips. We learn about animals, people, and places in the world, jobs grown-ups do and different ways to get around.
Most importantly, we learn how to get along with others. With tender guidance, children learn skills to last a lifetime in loving and respecting one another.

We Learn Together
We learn values, such as honesty, friendship, and self-esteem, both individually and in groups. We rejoice in music together in our classrooms and with our music teacher. We delight in learning the alphabet and numbers. Through storytelling, role playing, and games, teachers bring home lessons, ranging from Bible stories to fire safety! Some of our guest visitors include; police, firemen, dentist, and a traveling farm where children experience baby animals up close and personal.

Teacher the Key
It is not surprising that the US Government publication, “How to Choose a Nursery School,” underscores that the single most important factor in your child’s pre-school experience is your child’s teacher. This is why Long Hill Christian Preschool teachers are chosen, not only for their teaching qualifications, but also for their compassion and gentle nature. Teachers continue their education by attending seminars, conferences, CPR and first aid training and college courses.

A Balance of Emphasis
Long Hill Christian Preschool provides for the spiritual, as well as the physical, emotional and social needs of children. Staff members have a vital, personal faith in God, and seek to express that faith in all aspects of their relationships.
In an effort to encourage teachers and students to reach their full potential, we maintain a small teacher-child ratio. Usually no more that one-to-eight.
Some of the things your child will learn from these dedicated teachers are:God made me, I am special, God Loves me, God talks to us in His book the Bible, and tells us to obey our parents, to be kind to others, and to be glad for all things He has made. Bible stories and other themes are included in our circle time. We learn that we can talk to God – and He listens!
